My Sister's Place in Ansonia posts December hours


My Sister's Place Thrift Store and Donation Center at 380 Main St., Ansonia, is a program of BHcare. 

 All proceeds support The Umbrella Center for  Domestic Violence Victims.

Boy Scout Troop 3 in Derby seeks addresses of military personnel

DERBY - Boy Scout Troop 3 is collecting mailing addresses of servicemen and servicewomen from the Valley to send Holiday Care Packages.
This annual tradition dates back to WWII, when more than 100 Troop 3 alumni were serving in the military.

Ansonia Police seeking information on fatal motorcycle accident

ANSONIA - Ansonia Police responded to a call at about 7 p.m. Sunday of a person laying in the road at the intersection of East Main, Main, North Main and State Streets, Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a prepared statement late Sunday. 

Officers located a male in the road at the intersection seriously injured; a short distance away on North Main Street a motorcycle with heavy damage was located on its side. 
Video footage from the area confirmed the male in the road was the operator of the motorcycle and the accident involved only the motorcycle and no other vehicles. 
The male was pronounced deceased at the scene, his name will be released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin, Lynch said.

The investigation into the fatal accident has resulted in the closure of the following roads. North Main Street from Fourth Street to Main Street. Main Street from Maple Street to State Street. State Street from North Cliff Street to Main Street. East Main Street from Kingston Drive to North Main Street. All traffic should avoid the area until further notice.

Derby Neck Library hosts virtual Teen Craft Nights


DERBY - Derby Neck Library hosts virtual Teen Craft Night on Tuesdays. The next session is 6:30 p.m. Dec.1. The program will also be held Dec. 8, 15, 22, and 29.
