Assumption Church in Ansonia to host dine-in community breakfast Saturday


ANSONIA - Please join us for a dine-in hearty morning meal Saturday, April 11, 8:30-10 a.m. at Assumption Church, 61 N. Cliff St.
Hot and cold items will be served buffet style / or until food runs out.
Take out meals for those who prefer “grab and go” will be available at 9:30 a.m., depending on availability.
A free raffle ticket (one per person) for a nice variety of prizes will be drawn at the end of the meal.
Everyone is welcome! Bring a friend!

Griffin Health, Agency on Aging to host neck health presentations


Griffin Health and the Agency on Aging of South-Central Connecticut will host an interactive program designed to help Valley seniors care for their necks this May.

Caregivers from Griffin Health’s Physical Medicine will lead The Importance of Cervical Spine Health, a free presentation on the cervical spine anatomy, importance of maintaining neck health and proper posture, and tips for maintaining proper cervical position while performing everyday tasks. 
The presentation will include a demonstration of cervical stretches. Griffin Health caregivers will also offer free blood pressure screenings and consultation.
The presentations are scheduled for May 4 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Seymour Senior Center, May 7 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Ansonia Senior Center, May 14 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the Oxford Senior Center, May 20 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Shelton Senior Center, and May 28 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Derby Neck Library.

These offerings are part of the AgeWell program, which is co-sponsored by Griffin Health and the Agency on Aging of South-Central Connecticut to increase access to care and prevent disease in the Valley senior community through a series of health screenings and healthy living education sessions each month. 
Periodically, this program provides nutritiously balanced and delicious foods for attendees.

Ansonia Police currently assisting in investigation


The Ansonia Police Department is currently assisting in a criminal investigation in the 70s block of Garden Street.

While this is an active scene there is no danger to the public.
