Derby Silver Co. items on display at Derby Public Library

DERBY - Derby Public Library has on display some items made at the Derby Silver Co.

These beautiful objects are on loan from the Derby Historical Society’s collection.

The Derby Silver Co. started in 1872. They made mirrors, combs, tableware, tea sets, flatware, cups including trophies and candlesticks to name a few. Their products could be found all over the world.

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

Baby Stories and Senses program on tap Tuesday at Derby Neck Library


DERBY - Tomorrow [Tuesday] at 10:30 a.m. at Derby Neck Library is Baby Stories and Senses, a special story and playtime just for babies and toddlers!

We’ll start with some songs, stories, and lap bounces, followed by 20 mins or so of free play!

This program is targeted to ages Birth-3, but older siblings are welcome, too!

The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.

TEAM needs volunteers for income tax assistance program


TEAM needs YOU!
Volunteers needed NOW through April 2024 to help greet clients and check them into their appointments for our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. 

We help about 1,000 households in our community each year file their taxes for FREE and get the maximum refund.

Griffin caregivers donate $700 to Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley

DERBY - Caregivers from the Griffin Hospital 2 North inpatient units recently presented a $700 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley.


The money was raised through a 2 North Gives Back Basket Raffle held in November. Caregivers from the 2 North inpatient units assembled 24 baskets for the fundraiser.


The donation is part of Griffin’s Planetree patient-centered care philosophy, which promotes partnerships with and support for area community organizations to improve the health and well-being of the community.
