Ansonia to hold ceremony Dec. 7 to mark 81st anniversary of attack on Pearl Harbor
Please join Ansonia Mayor David S. Cassetti at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 for "A Day of Remembrance," Pearl Harbor Day.
The annual ceremony will be held in Veterans Park next to City Hall.

Local resident to lead POUND Master Class Saturday at Shelton Community Center
SHELTON - Channel your inner rockstar with this full body cardio-jam session led by Debbie Russell and inspired by the infectious, energizing, and fun of playing the drums.
The event will be held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church St.
Instead of listening to music, you become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements.
Using Ripstix which are supplied, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective workout!
This master class is for you if you:
+ hate exercise because it's not fun
+ don't know what POUND is
+ are afraid of hopping into a new fitness class and getting hurt
+ afraid that it might be too intense
+ don't think you can do it because you don't have rhythm or are uncoordinated.

Oxford Historical Society to host holiday open house Sunday

OXFORD - The Oxford Historical Society will host a holiday open house from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Twitchell-Rowland Homestead,60 Towner Lane.
It is the first of three open houses this season. There will be another one Dec. 17 and a third on Jan. 7. Admission is free.
The homestead is decorated for the season by the Oxford Garden Club.
Featured displays include a wide selection of antique Christmas and New Year’s postcards dating from the turn of the 20th Century.
Notecards, local history books, and other unique gift items will be on sale.
Of special interest to collectors are antique and vintage ornaments, handkerchiefs, McDonald’s toys, Pez dispensers and more, all donated by the family of Aggie Wyler and available for purchase.
Cider and treats baked by members of the Oxford Historical Society will be offered.
