Derby Neck Library hosts Video Game Club on Tuesdays


DERBY - Youth can join us Tuesdays from 3-6 p.m. for the Derby Neck Library’s Video Game Club! 

Playing a host of multiplayer games on the library’s game systems (Xbox Series S, Playstation 4, Switch, Dreamcast, etc.), players will be able to experience fun yet competitive play.

Story time slated in Shelton for kids who are entering kindergarten


SHELTON - Do you know a kid that will be starting kindergarten this year? We at Huntington Branch Library have a program JUST for THEM!

Ready for Kindergarten Story Time with Captain Killian!
This special program is meant especially for children that will be starting kindergarten this fall! Join Captain Killian as he reads "Pirates Don't Go To Kindergarten" by Lisa Robinson, gives each child their pirate name, and teaches them a sea shanty!

***This program is meant for children entering kindergarten only; please do not register if this does not apply to your child. Caregivers must remain with children for the duration of the program. ***

First United Methodist Church in Ansonia to show Mario Bros. movie Saturday



ANSONIA - Come join us at First United Methodist Church for S'mores and glow sticks, starting at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
At 9 p.m. The Super Mario Bros 2023 movie will begin. Admission is free.
Bring your family and friends and don't forget lawn chairs or a blanket

Recuperation journey: Looking at the sky




... while floating along Lake Housatonic on a beautiful afternoon last week.

Create art out of recycled books at Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton


SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library will host a  crafting class with Vanessa Fasanella at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
We'll be recycling discarded books and turning them into a scrapbook, travel memento, or photo album. 
When we cut, paint, and decorate, and add photo corners and headings, we will transform a book into a personal work of art. 
Join us to repurpose library discards and hardcovers.
The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

Get crafty at Derby Public Library program


DERBY - Get Crafty at Derby Public Library (Ages 18+) on Aug. 23.
Easy, but awesome crafting programs are led by craft expert Lisa Lupa.
The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton offers tai chi for adults on Wednesdays


SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library is offering Tai Chi workshops for adults. 
They are held on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. in the Library’s Meeting Room. 
The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

The class will be taught by Debbie Wooley, a certified instructor with the Health Institute has been practicing Tai Chi for the past 10 years and been teaching it for five years.
Debbie will be teaching the Tai Chi for Arthritis method which uses the Sun style. Each class will begin and end each class with a series of warm up and cool down exercises. 

There is no prerequisite to participate in this class. No equipment is necessary and participants may do this seated if they feel more comfortable.

The program is free and open to the public.

Derby Neck Library to host Sit and Social Snack Time



DERBY - Parents with little ones are invited to join us at Derby Neck Library after our morning program for snack time in our Community Room! 
We’ll have an activity and guest speaker on a variety of topics, followed by a period of free play and socialization. 
Coffee and light refreshments will be served. Come learn alongside other parents and give your child (and yourself) a chance to socialize with others!
