Plumb Memorial Library in Shelton to show comedy/adventure movie


SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library is offering a bimonthly “Friday Films” series on Fridays at 1 p.m. 

The films will be viewed in the downstairs Meeting Room.
This week’s film (July 21) is the comedy/adventure Everything Everywhere All at Once. It runs 2 hours, 12 minutes.

No registration is required and light refreshments will be served.

The Library is at 65 Wooster St.

Derby Police assist in arrest of suspect in Union Station shooting in New Haven



DERBY - At approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Derby Police officers assisted MTA’s Emergency Services Unit (ESU) at 2 Mansfield St. in effecting the arrest of Dayron Sanchez, 22, of Derby.

Sanchez is the alleged shooter from the July 5th shooting that occurred at Union Station in New Haven. 

Sanchez was taken into custody without incident. Please refer all inquiries to MTA.

Food Explorers to make tortellini skewers at Seymour Public Library


SEYMOUR - Join Food Explorers at 2 p.m. Aug. 1 at Seymour Public Library for a delicious summer cooking program!
You’ll be making Tortellini Skewers: delicious cheese tortellini made fun and creative by skewering with veggies, basil and balsamic vinegar.
Recipe is nut free but will contain dairy and eggs. Ages 5 and up.
Registration is required and limited for this program.
