Ribbon cutting slated for fishing platform at O'Sullivan's Island in Derby


Thanks to the City of Derby, CT and NVCOG, we’re excited to unveil the O’Sullivan's Island Fishing & Viewing Platform!
Join us on Thursday, July 13 at 10 a.m. for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 Caroline St., Derby.

Derby Public Library to host crafting fun for kids


Quirky Bird Crafting (Ages 5-12)
Tuesday, July 11 from 1-2 p.m.
DERBY - Come create a fun project geared for ages 5-12 at Derby Public Library.
Craft instruction will be facilitated by Lisa Lupa of Quirky Bird Crafting.
Come see a sample of the project on display in the Children’s Department. All materials will be provided and there is no fee to attend.

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.

Seymour Public Library to show movie, 'Inside'


 

SEYMOUR - Join us in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library July 12 to watch a movie! The movie starts at 12 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
We'll be showing "Inside" starring Willem Dafoe. It is rated R and its duration is 1 hour 45 minutes.
Summary: Nemo, a high-end art thief, is trapped in a New York penthouse after his heist doesn't go as planned. Locked inside with nothing but priceless works of art, he must use all his cunning and ingenuity to survive.

Ansonia Police Department receives $11,592 donation to purchase equipment




ANSONIA - Mayor David S. Cassetti would like to thank Maude Suozzi-Hinson, Dr. John Hinson, and the former First Baptist Church of Ansonia members for their dedication to and support of Ansonia's Police Department.

Tonight [Wednesday] at the Police Commission meeting Chief Wayne Williams and members of the Ansonia PD accepted a check for $11,592.86 to be used for the purchase of equipment.
On hand to thank Maude were members of the Ansonia Police Commission.
Thank you to everyone who helped raise this money.
