Seymour Public Library to show 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' Friday


SEYMOUR - Join us in the lower level auditorium of Seymour Public Library to watch an Oscar Nominee movie! 

The movie starts at 10:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be served.

We'll be showing "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" starring Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Martin Freeman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Angela Bassett. 
It is rated PG-13 and its duration is 2 hours, 45 minutes.
Summary: Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. 
As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for their nation.

Griffin Health to host Par for Pink fundraiser at Hop Brook Golf Course in Naugatuck


NAUGATUCK - Griffin Health’s Valley Goes Pink initiative will host its 2nd Annual Par for Pink golf fundraiser May 23 at Hop Brook Golf Course.


The fundraiser will feature a 9-hole round of golf starting at 10 a.m. and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital.

Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $5,000, and foursomes start at $400. In-kind donations are welcome.


The Valley Goes Pink is a grassroots, community-wide effort to increase awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection, support the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital, and to celebrate the charitable spirit of the region’s businesses and organizations.

Huntington Branch Library to hold Nintendo Switch Night for tweens, teens


Tween/Teen Nintendo Switch Night: Gang Beasts

SHELTON -Tweens/teens ages 10 and over can join us from 4:45-5:45 p.m Feb. 23 at the Huntington Branch Library for an hour of hard hitting fun as we play Gang Beasts on the Nintendo Switch!
Caregivers with children under the age of 12 must stay in the library for the duration of the program.

Cassetti swears in Lt. James Frolish at Ansonia City Hall

ANSONIA - Mayor David S. Cassetti officially swore in Lieutenant James Frolish Jan. 26 at City Hall. 

Frolish is a 22-year member of the Ansonia Police Department and his current assignment is overseeing professional standards, accreditation with the state, training, and the Detective Bureau. Congratulations Lt. Frolish.

Cassetti to open warming center at Ansonia Rescue and Medical Services HQ


ANSONIA - With the forecast of frigid temperatures, Mayor David S. Cassetti is opening a warming center at Ansonia Rescue and Medical Services, located at 22 West Main Street, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
