Seymour Pink posts 2023 community event calendar

Each year, Seymour Pink hosts a variety of fundraising and community events including a pasta dinner, gala night, golf tournament, and 5k Road Race.

Our mission is to unite a community in the fight against breast cancer.
Through fundraising efforts, our goal is to fund breast cancer research, provide education and to empower and assist breast cancer victims and their families.

The first event will be A Pink Night to Remember held at The Waterview in Monroe on March 31, from 6 to 10 p.m. This event is a great way for our community to come together and celebrate our mission, honor survivors and enjoy a great night of food, drinks and camaraderie.
Attendees receive a complimentary blush sparkling wine upon arrival and can enjoy a variety of cold and hot hors d’oeuvres and food stations, open bar and beer garden. The hallmark of this event is nearly 100 premium raffles and a silent auction. Tickets go on sale Feb. 12 at noon.

Our 14th Annual Pasta Dinner will take place  April 24 at The Brookside Inn in Oxford. This is the event that started it all.
When founder Mary Deming, set out to raise funds for her Susan G. Komen walk in 2007, owners Sara and Gary Morgatto agreed to host a pasta dinner to help her fundraising efforts.
Other than a brief 2-year hiatus due to the global pandemic, this event has occurred every year since. At this event, what is most special is the raffle baskets donated and built in honor or in memory of breast cancer patients. Each basket tells a heartfelt story about the person it is made for and builds our community’s story.

Our Golf Tournament will once again be held at Woodhaven Country Club in Bethany this year on June 10. In 2022 we introduced a third flight for this 9-hole tournament with options to tee off at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., or 1:30 p.m. Various prizes and fun await you on the course including hole in one contests, closest to the pin and entertainment.

Our 12th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink 5k Road Race will take place Oct. 7. Always taking place on the first Saturday in October, this event has been going on each year since our first running in 2011. This event draws close to 3,000 runners and walkers and nearly the same number of spectators along the USA Track & Field certified 5k (3.1 mile) course. Registration opens July 1 with early bird pricing specials for two weeks. Run, walk, or cheer in the fight against breast cancer!

Seymour Pink Day has been proclaimed as the third Wednesday of October, this year on Oct. 18. This day allows us to celebrate our mission and spread awareness for our organization and breast cancer.
Think Pink, Wear Pink, Decorate Pink! Local businesses and community organizations take part through wearing our annual Seymour Pink T-Shirt and turning their buildings pink in all ways possible. We celebrate this night at Hot Tamale Mexican Restaurant & Bar in Seymour with door prizes, pink drink specials, and live music.

Lastly, our Night of Appreciation is our give back night to honor all who have fundraised for us, supported us and attended events throughout the year. This night is our thank you to our supporters, held at M.A.G’s Pizza Bar & Grill Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m.

More information about all of these events can be found on our website seymourpink.com with plenty more details to be unveiled throughout the year. Our Calendar of Events includes these events along with any other upcoming events and is updated regularly.

There are also a large number of community events hosted on our behalf that occur throughout the year including pink sports nights, business events or fundraisers.
