Ansonia Nature Center to host water science program for children


OOZING OOBLECK - DEC. 27, 11 A.M.

Join Lisa from the Regional Water Authority for this water science program at 11 a.m. Dec. 27. 
After reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss, the children will explore the properties of different liquids and whether those properties change when materials are combined to make oobleck. 
FREE program. For ages 6 and up. 

The Nature Center is at 10 Deerfield Lane.

Santa to help White Hills firefighters collect toys, toss popcorn balls


SHELTON - This Saturday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Santa will be escorted on a fire truck through White Hills. 

Santa and his helpers will be tossing out popcorn balls to children during his tour.

The trip begins in Upper White Hills and ends in Lower White Hills.
White Hills Fire Company members will follow Santa’s engine with pickup trucks as part of the fire company’s Toys 4 Kids drive. 

New, unwrapped toys will be collected by the firefighters for distribution by TEAM Inc. 

Toys may also be dropped off under the front porch at the firehouse, 2 School St.
