DERBY - Every other Tuesday, bring your little one in-person to Derby Neck Library for some artistic exploration of various art mediums!

The next session is July 26. The Library is at 307 Hawthorne Ave.
One session will feature finger painting, while another will have stamps, and then another will have chalk. Your child will get to experiment with all sorts of artwork, bringing out their little Picasso (and maybe a bit of yours, too)!
And the best part is, we clean up the mess. Join us!
This program is targeted to ages 3-5, but everyone is welcome!
No registration required, but sign up for our Youth Services mailing list to stay in the loop on cancellations by clicking here: https://forms.gle/qmthMpyXtVMcaMZo7.

'Turnback Tuesday' features clothing store in downtown Derby

Turnback Tuesday visits longtime Derby business, The Model (H. Berman & Sons) clothing store, the "sons" being Albert & George Berman.

In 1902, Harry Berman started out as a ladies tailor with his partner Hyman Weinstein on 294 Main St. In 1918, Harry opened the Model store at 284 Main St.

This image of the storefront was taken not long after the store opened, across from the Birmingham National Bank. The business ran until the mid-1970’s.

Thanks goes to the Derby Public Library staff for sharing interesting local history each week.
