Wesley Village in Shelton to introduce Memory Care Team to caregivers

SHELTON - The new expanded Lifestyle Transitions team at Wesley Village will provide a greater depth of support and services for residents and their families and looks forward to welcoming caregivers at this event.

New additions to the team include: 

  • Patricia Kopf, RN (Supervisor of Assisted Living Services-SALSA)
  • Karin Wlcek, RN (Assistant Supervisor, SALSA Designee)
  • Jennifer Hemstreet, MSW, EMT (Social Worker/Resident Services Coordinator/Emergency Medical Technician)
  • Ann Panagulias, MM, ADCMC, CDP (Activities Director, Certified Dementia Practitioner)

Plumb Memorial, Huntington Branch Libraries to be closed Saturday

SHELTON - Plumb Memorial Library and Huntington Branch Library will be closed on Saturday due to the winter storm forecast.
Make sure you are stocked up on some cozy books and great movies to get you through the winter storm.

Derby High School Running Club prepares meal for Spooner House residents

DERBY - Members of the Derby High School CT Indoor Track & Field team volunteered their time Tuesday night delivering a home-cooked meal to those less fortunate in our community.
Residents at the Spooner House in Shelton will enjoy a warm meal prepared by eight of our student athletes. 

Our athletes are looking forward to being able to once again serve the meal, sit with the residents and get to know them once COVID protocols allow.

Learn about animal tracks on Ansonia Nature Center hike

ANSONIA - Join Ranger Jeremy at 1 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center on a walk through snow-covered trails and discover some fascinating tracks. 

You will learn about local wildlife and how to identify different native species by their imprints and other signs left behind. 

Wear good boots and extra layers for this outdoor program.
