"Due to the predicted snowstorm the Seymour Public Library will have a delayed opening. We hope to open by 12 noon tomorrow Jan 8.

Griffin Hospital to host Harlem Wizards' show at Ansonia Armory




ANSONIA - Griffin Hospital will host the Harlem Wizards Feb. 6 at the reCharged Ansonia Armory!
This is a FREE event being hosted by Griffin to say ‘thank you’ to Ansonia and Derby’s youth (elementary and middle school kids) who are fully vaccinated in time to attend the event!
Parents/guardians accompanying their children must also be fully vaccinated (and boosted if eligible for a booster!) to attend.
Capacity will be limited to allow for social distancing. Each attendee (adult and child) must register separately and present the registration confirmation and their vaccine card to be allowed entry at the event. Masks are required to attend.
Additional shows may be added but space is limited!

If your child would like to attend, a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine must be administered on or before 1/13/2022!

To make sure you have an opportunity to attend, vaccine clinics will be held at the Ansonia Armory today,Thursday, Jan. 6 from 3-7 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 11 from 3-7 pm. (Clinics are being held every Tuesday but a first dose must be completed by Jan. 13 to allow you to be fully vaccinated in time for the event!!).
The City of Ansonia is eternally thankful to Griffin Hospital for their tremendous partnership in not only recharging the Armory but also for recognizing the community youth who became fully vaccinated to best protect their friends, families and neighbors!
Edit to add: this event is limited to Ansonia and Derby kids and the adults accompanying them to the event!

Derby to distribute COVID test kits, N95 masks Sunday


Message from Derby Town/City Clerk Marc Garofalo:

COVID Home Test Kits and N95 Masks are back in stock. We have 450 test kits and several thousand adult sized masks. 

We are once again asking only residents experiencing symptoms to pick up test kits.

We will be having another distribution event at Derby High School, Sunday, Jan. 9 from 10 a.m.-noon.

Kits will be limited to 2 test kits and 4 masks per address with proof of residency required.
