Community members help St. Vincent de Paul in Derby after theft from food van

Sharing today's post from SVDP Thrift Shoppe and Food Bank:

"We are BEYOND grateful to Allen at  A&S Nathan Heating & Cooling, llc who reached out to us immediately upon hearing of our bad luck, offering to fully cover our food van repairs.

"And also to Rob Trez of Penfield Service Center for donating his labor, getting us back in operation within 48 hours! Guys like this are a gift to us all."

A Chance to Shine virtual bike ride kick-off in Oxford to benefit PCRC

Shared from a Facebook event page:
OXFORD - Thanks to our amazing community, we raised over $100,000 last year for BHcare's Parent Child Resource Center in Derby.
This year, we're combining the best of both worlds and holding a virtual bike ride with an in-person walk at Quarry Walk, 300 Oxford Road.
We'll kick off on July 31 with a virtual bike ride and conclude the 2021 event Aug.14 with a 10 a.m. walk and celebration at Quarry Walk.
Register for one or both here: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/acts2/register/
WPLR's Chaz and AJ will be there to host their epic Classic Car Show!.
We'll have live music by Social Convention, The Elwoods, Morgan Skelly & The Old Crows, kids' activities, Touch-a-Truck and some special surprises up our sleeves.
All funds raised will support the children and families at the Parent Child Resource Center in Derby.
The need for children's mental health services is greater than ever.
The COVID-19 pandemic impacted our clients significantly. Children and families had to quickly adapt with the sudden changes in our world due to the health crisis.
The Parent Child Resource Center is seeing a lot more children with severe anxiety, isolation and depression.
From March 2020 through December 2020, our clinicians provided nearly 11,000 telehealth appointments. The solution is to have more access to mental health resources.
