Ansonia police seek help in locating missing teen

UPDATE: Good news! Skyla has been found safe, per a report on this morning's Valley Independent Sentinel Facebook page.

ANSONIA - Ansonia Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. 
The juvenile, Skyla Bethea, 14, was last seen  March 1 at about 10:30 p.m. in the area of Platt Street, police said.
Skyla is a black female, 5’5” tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, and she has scars on both cheeks.

The department is asking anyone with information to please contact 203-735-1885 or tips can be left anonymously through TIP 411 at the link below.

Derby Public Library to host virtual presentation on Iditarod race


DERBY - Derby Public Library invites all ages to a Virtual Iditarod Sled Race Presentation from 6:30-7:30 p.m. March 16. 

An actual “Musher” will share her past experiences in this iconic Alaskan event.
