ANSONIA - The Ansonia Police Department investigated a report of person shot at about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday on Fourth Street near North Main Street, Lt. Patrick Lynch said in a release.
Officers located a 39-year-old male on Fourth Street. The male was shot once in the leg and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is a resident of New Haven and his injury does not appear to be life threatening.
A suspect in the shooting is described as a tall, thin black male who last seen running down Fourth Street towards Star Street.
