(Possible Sighting Of Vanessa Morales) - #Bridgeport CT– UPDATE: Police sources have told me that the child was seen in Bridgeport Hospital around 10am this morning. Ansonia Police Detectives have been sent to Bridgeport Hospital to view the security video.

#Bridgeport CT--We are working on leads that the missing baby from Ansonia Vanessa Morales was sighted in Bridgeport this afternoon. I will keep you updated with any updates if any of these leads become credible or verification from police.

As I was taking photos of the lights on the Derby Green at 4:35 p.m. today the sky changed in less than a minute.

It suddenly looked rather ominous!

The photo isn't as clear as it could be but at least we can see his eye. I wonder if he knows it's a new year?

Big Y Community Bag Program to benefit Derby Historical Society

ANSONIA - The Derby Historical Society has been selected as a beneficiary of the Big Y Community Bag Program for the month of January. 

The Big Y Community Bag Program, which launched in January 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work. 

The Derby Historical Society was selected as the January 2020 beneficiary by store leadership at Big Y, 656 New Haven Ave., Derby. 

The Derby Historical Society will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during January unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.  

“We are excited that the Big Y continues to show its support to the Derby Historical Society,” said Daniel L. Bosques, Executive Director of the Derby Historical Society. “This donation campaign will continue to help us Preserve our Place in History.” 

The Derby Historical Society is a non-profit based at the David Humphreys House, 37 Elm St. 

Founded in 1946, the Derby Historical Society has served as the Lower Naugatuck Valley’s regional historical organization.

Kids have opportunity to read to a special canine at Derby Public Library

Ollie is a good listener.

DERBY - Children ages 4-11 are welcome to be part of the popular B.A.R.K. (Be A Reading Kid) program from 4-5 p.m. Jan. 7 at Derby Public Library. 

This is a great opportunity for beginner or reluctant readers - as well as experienced readers - to build confidence, enhance literary skills achieved during the school year, and develop a love of reading.

Children will be given a 10-minute time slot to read and may select a book from Ollie’s Book Picks to share with him for the program.

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.
