Seymour-Oxford Rotary Club to learn about sleep disorder

SEYMOUR - The Seymour Oxford Rotary Club will welcome a member of the Griffin Hospital Sleep Disorder Unit at 7:15 a.m. Feb. 15 at Route 67 Diner, Klarides Village, Route 67.

Come and learn what sleep disorder means and how it can affect your good night’s sleep and what you can do to correct it!

Fellow Rotarians and interested persons are cordially invited to attend.

Ansonia Nature Center to hold 'creature parade' Saturday

ANSONIA - Meet the Ansonia Nature Center’s resident animals from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Each animal will get its own 20-minute spotlight. 
Pet a snake, hold a dove, and high-five a tarantula, all during our animal extravaganza!
Have you ever wondered why Quincy has five legs or how old Babe the Red Tailed Boa is? 
All of these questions, and more, will be answered.
Bathrooms will be open to the public, but admission into the Nature Center building during the Creature Parade will be $6 per person or $15 per family. 
Tickets will be sold at the door. Re-entry is allowed, but have your ticket handy.
This event will raise money for care of the animals.

The nature center is at 10 Deerfield Road.

Schedule:
Noon-12:10 p.m.: Introduction
12:10-12:30 p.m.: E.T. - Ball Python
12:40-1 p.m.: Blaze - Bearded Dragon
1:10-1:30 p.m.: Quincy, Tripod, and Igor - Box Turtles
1:40-2 p.m.: Pepper - Domesticated Rabbit
2:10-2:30 p.m.: Madagascar Hissing Cockroach
2:40-3 p.m.: Rosie - Chilean Red Haired Tarantula
3:10-3:30 p.m.: Chuckles - Ring Neck Dove
3:40-4 p.m.: Sassy - Screech Owl
* There is a 10-minute break in between animal showings to allow for restroom usage.

Beacon Falls Public Library to host talk about rescuing, fostering pets

BEACON FALLS - Companion Pet Rescue will present the ins and outs of rescuing and fostering our four-legged friends at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Beacon Falls Public Library, 10 Maple Ave.

Silver Sluggers to talk baseball at Derby Public Library

Hot Stove roundup session of Sports Talk series
DERBY - The Silver Sluggers will talk baseball at 10 a.m. Thursday at Derby Public Library.


Ansonia resident Rich Marazzi, author of six sports books, is a Major League Rules Consultant, former high school and college umpire, and host of the radio talk show, Inside Baseball for 17 years, has led the Silver Sluggers for 12 years. 

New members of all ages are welcome!

The Library is at 313 Elizabeth St.
