Valley Shakespeare Festival to stage zany adaptation of 'Romeo & Juliet'
What if…the “greatest love story of all time”…wasn’t?
What if Romeo didn’t fall for Juliet that fateful day in Verona, but ended up with his then-girlfriend Rosaline instead?
Or, what if Tybalt didn’t fight Mercutio, and instead of killing him, they fell in love?
What would have happened if Friar Lawrence hadn’t concocted his wacky scheme to fake Juliet’s death so she could escape marrying Paris? Who would she have married and would anyone have died?
Would William Shakespeare’s “TRAGEDY of ROMEO AND JULIET” still have been a “tragedy”…or a “comedy”?
Yes, in Shawn and Ann Fraistat’s zany adaptation of the Bard’s most famous play, the audience decides!
Crazy as it sounds, their adaptation gives the audience three separate opportunities during the course of the show to vote on how the plot should proceed.
And on Feb. 15 it’s your turn to tell the Bard how it should be done!

Join Valley Shakespeare Festival at Tavern 1757, 318 Roosevelt Drive, Seymour, for its next offering in its popular “Shakespeare in the Bar” series, “Romeo and Juliet: Choose Your Own Ending.”
This adaptation has been called an irreverent, madcap reimagining of Shakespeare’s most beloved romance and “hyper-literate lunacy” by Steven McKnight of the DC Theater Scene.

Recuperation journey: Winter, wheelchairs bad combination
My husband Ralph uses a wheelchair and he finally got out the other day.
Hallelujah!
He got his hair cut and got some fresh air.
Ralph was basically a shut-in for eight days straight thanks to the snow and ice.
And now there is snow in the forecast for Tuesday into Wednesday.
He'll have to make the best of it as he works on our newsletter and talks to the cat.

Recuperation journey: Blue jay breakfast
Seen through the window this morning ...
These photos were taken a few minutes apart and I'm not even sure if it's the same bird.
On Thursday I wrote this post about 'training' the blue jays. And so the saga continues.
