Derby Historical Society to hold 27th annual Silver Tea fundraiser

DERBY - The Derby Historical Society's 27th annual Silver Tea will feature a performance about Eleanor Roosevelt at 2 p.m. July 10 at La Sala Banquet Hall, 73 High St.

Actress Sheryl Faye will perform "The First Lady of the World," a play about the wife of 32nd President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Recycle jars, make decorative gift containers at Derby Public Library


DERBY - The Derby Public Library has scheduled another Recycle, Repurpose, and Reuse Craft at 6:30 p.m. July 11.

Ansonia Animal Control Officer, Jeanie Roslonowski, returns to the Library to show participants ages 18 and over, how to make decorative gift containers using mason jars.  
All materials will be provided but participants are asked to bring craft glue and scissors.  
The class will also include information on conservation and animal issues.
