Derby Public Library offers chess club, games for teens

DERBY - The Derby Public Library Teen Chess Club invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to meetings Mondays in September (excluding holidays) from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
All skill levels are welcome. 

Participants will learn how the game is played as well as defensive/offensive strategies. 
Julio Maldonado provides superb expertise from a life-long love of the game. 

YA Wednesdays
The Library hosts YA Wednesdays every month from 6-7:30 p.m.
All young adults ages 12 to 17 are invited to join the fun each Wednesday in September. 
Nintendo Wii, board games, and Legos will be available. 
Light refreshments will be provided.

Learn to repurpose items at Derby Public Library class


DERBY - The Derby Public Library has scheduled another Recycle, Repurpose, and Reuse Craft Class at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 13.


Ansonia Animal Control Officer Jeanie Roslonowski returns with ideas on what to do with all those “handful” of food 
items left at the bottom of bags and boxes in your kitchen.  

The class also will include information on conservation and animal issues.  

Registration is required.
