Furniture store in Ansonia holding trade-in to benefit My Sister's Place
ANSONIA - Spector Furniture, 385 Main St., is holding a “Trade-In” event for the month of June.
Customers can trade-in their old furniture to receive a discount on the purchase of new items. The trade-ins will be donated to My Sister’s Place Thrift Store and Donation Center, 380 Main St.
My Sister's Place, a program of BHcare, is a unique family thrift shop located in Ansonia.
The shop offers quality new or “gently used” clothing, furniture, and household items to the public at discount prices.
All proceeds support The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services programs.

Spector Furniture will deliver any new purchase for free and will remove your old furniture free of charge to anyone living within a 20-mile radius of the store. Participants will also receive an income tax deduction form for your trade-in.
You can receive up to $300 in trade-in value for your furniture.
Helping Hands will receive any upholstered furniture and mattresses with a portion of the proceeds benefiting MSP.

Derby Public Library to host superhero matinees
DERBY - The Derby Public Library will host a Superhero Movie Matinee for patrons ages 12 to 17 June 23 and 30 from 3-5 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to vote on subsequent superhero DVD titles to be shown.
